MAMM — Museum of Modern Art — One of Medellín's most important cultural institutions, housed in a stunning 1938 industrial building in Ciudad del Río. Rotating exhibitions, an arthouse cinema, and a buzzing cultural programme. Don't miss the last Friday of every month — open until 10pm with outdoor cinema and free entry. @elmamm
Museo de Antioquia — The Botero Collection — Home to Fernando Botero's donated collection of over 100 works, in a beautiful 1937 Art Deco building. Outside, Plaza Botero displays 23 monumental bronze sculptures previously exhibited in Paris, New York, and Madrid. Free entry to the plaza. @museodeantioquia
Safety note: The museum is in the historic downtown — go during daylight hours, take Uber directly to the entrance, and keep valuables out of sight. Well worth the visit.
Road Cycling — Medellín is one of the world's great cycling cities — training ground of pros like Egan Bernal and Rigoberto Urán. The climbs around Santa Elena, Las Palmas, and Alto de Minas are legendary.

Las Palmas Sunday Ciclovía — 16 kilometres from San Diego to Alto de Las Palmas — open every Sunday and public holiday from 5:30am to 10am. Run, walk, or cycle at your own pace. One of the best free things to do in the city.

Jet Skiing — Guatapé Reservoir — An adrenaline-packed experience across the vast, shimmering waters of the reservoir. Best combined with the Guatapé day trip.
Horseback Riding in Antioquia — A half-day ride through lush forests and rolling hills outside the city, past coffee and cacao farms. A peaceful escape.

Alma del Bosque — La Ceja, Antioquia
A private botanical sanctuary 1h15 from Medellín and 30 minutes from the international airport, run by award-winning orchid cultivator Daniel Piedrahita. Not open to the public — visits are by reservation only, in small groups. They offer three experiences: a 2-hour orchid tour through a moss-forest trail with over 25,000 orchids in bloom; a guided walk through 15 hectares of export hydrangeas where you harvest your own bouquet; and a show-jumping horse experience at their breeding stables. The full-day tour combines all three and includes lunch. Book directly via their website or WhatsApp — minimum 24 hours in advance. For anyone coming to the wedding at the Orquiderama, this one is an obvious addition to the trip.
